French chemical group Solvay launched an expansion plan on April 8 to revive its previous advantage in rare earth processing, hoping to attract customers after China implemented new rare earth export control measures.

In accordance with the Export Control Law of the People’s Republic of China and other relevant laws and regulations, on April 4, the Ministry of Commerce, together with the General Administration of Customs, announced export control measures on seven categories of medium and heavy rare earth-related items.
