Cyclic Materials Canada builds new rare earth recycling facility in the U.S.

2025-04-24

Cyclic Materials Canada, a company committed to creating a circular supply chain for rare earth elements and other key materials, announced on April 23 that it has invested more than $20 million to build its first commercial facility in Mesa, Arizona. This new facility will become the company’s first global rare earth element recycling project, focusing on using the MagCycle process to separate permanent magnets from previously unrecycled end-of-life products.

The company has established partnerships in the southwestern United States, where an estimated 155,000 tons of scrap parts from automotive and electronic scrap metals are produced each year. The facility, which processes 25,000 tons of scrap and electronic waste each year, is expected to be put into commercial operation in early 2026.
