Chile’s Aclara Resources nc. announced on April 28 that its semi-industrial heavy rare earth pilot plant in Aparecida, Goiás, Brazil, has officially started.
The main products of the pilot plant are dysprosium and terbium, which, along with other heavy and light rare earth elements, will be included in the carbonates produced at the plant. The company expects to process approximately 200 tons of clay and is expected to produce 150 kg of heavy rare earth carbonates. The new pilot plant adopts a number of process optimization measures aimed at improving efficiency, reducing operating costs and increasing the purity of the end product.
